Outfit: Sunday Stripes

Welcome to the beginning of my extensive humble-brag New York City blogging! My husband and I just got back today (*sniff sniff*) so I’ve had a chance to sit down and go through the pictures I’ve taken. I’ll be writing about it all on here over the next week, so stay tuned!

My husband and I went to Central Park the first day, Sunday the 3rd. The weather was perfect, and he suggested we do fashion blog photos. (See, guys? It’s not just me that fuels my pride…Devon does, too! Heehee.) We were on the upper west side of the park, and we worked our way down a little bit. I’m pretty certain we walked the equivalent of 4-5 miles every day we were in New York, so it was a must that my shoes be comfortable. These sneakers really did the job! Thank you, Payless, for another victory to penny-pinching fashionistas everywhere.

Before we got to the park, we stopped by a local street fair on 86th. It went for about 6 or 7 blocks, all filled with vendors offering food, clothes, trip tours, knick knacks, and everything in between. I saw this necklace and HAD to have it. A few years ago I got a pocketwatch necklace as a gift…and I lost it. (My track record with losing jewelry is embarrassing.) So when I found this treasure, I knew it’d be enough to replace the original.

Sundays spent in nature are the best. Even though we didn’t make it to church, I felt very close to God being out under the sun. Manhattan is busy and a little overwhelming, yes, but there is a very energizing spirit in the city, and actually, all the people we came in contact with were congenial and easy to talk to. The Lord and His disciples are strong in NYC, and you can feel it in certain places throughout. I loved the feeling I felt there; I never felt more alive and ready to take on the world! It’s a place everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
